Signs of Cupidity

Every once in a while, a huge number displays on the wall with magic, lighting up to announce the next cupid in line to go forward. There, standing in the forest under the speckled sunlight filtering through the trees, is a shirtless god of a man. It was there for an instant, and then he closed it off, fitting his usual cold and expressionless mask over his face once again. His whole body is taut, fists and jaw clenched, shoulders tight, eyes like darkness.
