My Brilliant Friend (Neapolitan Novel)

The Cappuccio family (the mad widow’s family): Melina, a relative of Lila’s mother, a mad widow. Maybe the idea took root when she discovered that the author of Little Women had made so much money that she had given some of it to her family. He explained to her that Marcello Solara’s proposal was important not only for her future but for that of the whole family. The only consolation was that finally Nino would arrive.
