FLICK - The Story of Female Pleasure

It’s much easier to tell the history of what men have thought sexy and pleasurable, because the evidence for that survives. Tiresias is happy to oblige and gives the gods his answer: ‘if the pleasures of love be reckoned at ten, men enjoy one and women nine’.1 Hera, furious that Tiresias has given away the secret that women like sex more than men, blinds him as a punishment. It is very easy to overly romanticize the 1960s and 1970s and what the pill offered, but the truth is that it was not a time of ‘sexual freedom’ for all and not everyone experienced a ‘sexual revolution’. But now she has the pill, all this has changed, and she is finally going to go and have herself some fun.
